Greetings Fellow Learners!Pix of Cindra

Welcome to this Sinclair Community College course. I look forward to having you in class, and I hope you will enjoy the journey! Now, a little about myself, … I am Cindra Phillips and an Instructor for the Business and Computer Information Systems Departments at Sinclair Community College located in Dayton, Ohio. I have been involved with SCC in some capacity since 1987. I was the Graphic Artist for the entire college for nearly 12 years. After receiving my Master’s degree in Education Technology Leadership from The George Washington University (on–line), I designed Computer Based Training modules on various technical topics for the National Educational Training Group (NETg).

I have also been a corporate trainer, where I designed Individual Learning Plans for the employees, created and designed PC application modules in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project. I also created modules on Basic Computer Usage, File Management, Password Protection, Customer Service, Outlook, and Windows. As part of the employee’s ILPs, I tracked their training, performed assessments to see where they were in regard to their Learning Plans, and did the odd marketing piece for print and online catalogs. I also maintained the website and edited a “ton” of graphics for the catalog. About a year ago, that company was bought out by another company and certain departments were forced to consolidate, restructure, or dissolve.

On a personal note, my husband and I have a small ranch (5.25 acres) east of Xenia, Ohio. We are (still) building a new barn for the horses. We also put in a controlled waterway. We have 2 horses (a black and white Appaloosa mare; and a plain brown Standardbred gelding), 7 indoor cats, 2 outdoor barn cats, 3 dogs, and wildlife that wanders in from elsewhere. It is very nice out in the country.

I am looking forward to working with everyone and having a wonderful learning experience as well.

Best regards,

Cindra
