It is Childrens', we have to go back to the hospital right away. Roma has coded and she is not going to make through the night. As we are racing back, my mind wanders. What have I done to our precious baby girl, I didn't carry her long enough and now she is paying the price. My mind is jarred back as we walk into her room, a flurry of activity, resuscitating my perfect little angel. She coded several more times that night, but morning came and she was still alive. The doc's wanted to pull the plugs at that point, they couldn't guarantee brain damage didn't occur, but I refused to let her go. Please, just give Roma one more day. Jan 25, 8:00 p.m.: Roma was extubated, they had no hope for her, they felt as if she had too much brain damage to survive. As we waited by her isolet, her breathing became more regular throughout the night. Then in the morning, things were looking up as we heard her hoarse little cry and her little hand reaching for me. My sweet Roma was going to make it.
