Payments & Financial Aid
All students joining in Sinclair Community College's Revolution should pay close attention to the financial aid processes, payment options and deadlines that can be affected.
Financial Aid
Beginning in the 2008–09 academic year, the process for filing for and receiving financial aid gets a whole lot easier!
If a student plans to register for fall quarter during the early registration period, he/she needs to make sure they complete his/her FAFSA paperwork sometime between April 15–May 28, 2008. That will be all that is required for the majority of students. Students will then receive confirmation of the aid eligibility, which they will be able to accept online via Web Advisor.
It is also possible that some students might not receive financial aid or might not have completed their FAFSA paperwork by May 28. If that is the case, the new and improved FACTS Payment Plan is a great option to assist students in tuition and fee payment.
FACTS Payment Plan: Improved for Fall!
To help students meet their educational expenses, Sinclair has been a proud provider of the NBS FACTS Payment Plan. Previously this plan allowed students to split their total bill into three payments, now students will be able to split their Fall quarter bill into FOUR payments!
Students using the FACTS Payment Plan will make payments on the following schedule:
- 1st Payment: 1/4 down at time of sign up for payment plan
- 2nd Payment: August 20
- 3rd Payment: September 20
- 4th Payment: October 20
This recently improved payment option for students means that if a student wants to "hold" the courses for which they registered during the early registration period, they only need to sign up for the FACTS Payment Plan and pay one-fourth of their total bill!
This is also advantageous for those students who expect to receive financial aid, but did not complete the paperwork between April 15 and May 28, 2008. Those students have the option of signing up for the payment plan, paying the first one-fourth payment, and receiving a refund for that when their financial aid is applied for the quarter.
Payment Deadlines
Students are highly encouraged to take advantage of the convenience of early registration! As always, each student must be aware of payment deadlines to avoid a cancellation of his/her registration.
Students Registered for Summer 2008 and Fall 2008
In order to relieve some of the financial burden of paying for two quarters at one time, students who are registered for both Summer and Fall 2008 will have until August 29, 2008 (the on-time registration payment deadline) to pay their fall quarter fee bill.
Students Only Registered for Fall 2008
Those students (not registered for summer quarter classes) who choose to take advantage of early registration for Fall quarter—between May 28 and June 27, 2008, must pay all tuition and fees for those courses by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2008. If the payment is not received by early registration payment deadline, students will be removed from those courses.
Those students that do not take advantage of the early registration period should also be aware of payment deadlines affecting their registration. For those students who register for fall quarter classes during the on-time registration period (Saturday, June 28 and Friday, August 29, 2008), the payment deadline is 4:30 p.m. on August 29, 2008.
